Robin Carter began her artistic practice working on theatre set design in high school. After graduating Parsons School of Design she worked in Paris as a fashion illustrator by day and designed fabrics and wall coverings by night. Returning to New York, she worked as an art director before deciding to concentrate in the field of decorative painting and European plaster finishing. Always, she has been attentive to fine design and the art of the craft. She studied and practiced the techniques of stenciling, wood graining, marbling, glazing, gilding, trompe l’oeil and the creation of murals. Finally, after much experience, she has taught the techniques and methods of Italian plaster and faux finish applications.
Robin has worked in a variety of homes, offices and showrooms in the U.S. and Europe, being responsive to the time and place for which each project was created. Working with the designers and clients, she has brought with her the influences of classical design, the natural world and abstraction to create a new space and enhanced environment.

I've just redone my apartment and ooh, baby, it is outstanding!!! When people visit, they spend so much of their time checking out my walls and ceilings and moldings and the such. Those who know me, look at me and smile and say "Robin" and I reply "Who else?" Robin is a "Work of Heart!" I've never seen 'faux' look so real! She makes a house an incredible home.
